John joined Brelje & Race in 1995 with a background in commercial and residential land development. As an Associate with the firm, John takes an active role as a designer and project manager for a variety of larger site development projects. His experience extends into leading the entitlement process, design and project management for many residential, commercial and institutional projects, including such projects as the Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital campus. As a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD), John stays current with regulations regarding Stormwater Management and understands how to implement innovative designs that comply with the requirements for post-construction storm water treatment and management.

John is an alumnus of California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. In his spare time, he enjoys restoring his 1950’s British sportscar that has been in his family for over 50 years, collecting antique bottles, hiking, and spending time with his family.
