As part of the Measure H capital improvement program, Santa Rosa Junior College replaced outmoded math and science facilities with a modern three-story science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) building. The $100 million facility features 95,000 square feet of labs, classrooms, and offices. Brelje & Race was engaged by Smith Group JJR, the project architect and primary design consultant, to provide engineering design, construction documents, constructability reviews, permitting, bidding assistance, and constriction administration for civil site improvements. Civil design services focused on demolition, grading, wet utilities, pavement, and stormwater management. In addition, Brelje & Race provided construction surveying services for the project.
This project is the latest in Brelje & Race’s many decades of contribution to the development of Santa Rosa Junior College. Other key projects where Brelje & Race contributed civil design include the Frank Doyle Library, the Petaluma Campus and campus expansion, the Bertolini Student Services Center, the Burdo Culinary Arts Center, the Zumwalt Parking Pavilion, the Public Safety Training Facility in Windsor, and numerous improvements at Shone Farm.
