Santa Rosa Junior College STEM Building Opens to Students

Congratulations to Santa Rosa Junior College on the completion of the Lindley Center for STEM Education!

Brelje & Race was on-hand for a ribbon cutting event on Friday to mark the opening of this new three story, 95,000-square foot academic building. The $100 million facility boasts an Innovation Center to promote hands on learning, a STEM Success Center to expand student support resources, student-focused learning spaces, expanded chemistry and physics labs, a large lecture hall, and a new quadrangle.

Brelje & Race was engaged by Smith Group JJR, the project architect and primary design consultant, to provide engineering design for civil site improvements, construction documents, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction administration. Civil site design focused on demolition, grading, wet utilities, stormwater management, and constructability reviews. In addition, Brelje & Race provided construction surveying services for the project.

This project is the latest in Brelje & Race’s many decades of contribution to the development of Santa Rosa Junior College. Other key projects where Brelje & Race contributed civil design include the Frank Doyle Library, the Petaluma Campus and campus expansion, the Bertolini Student Services Center, the Burdo Culinary Arts Center, the Zumwalt Parking Pavilion, the Public Safety Training Facility in Windsor, and numerous improvements at Shone Farm.
